Zespół powstał w Barcelonie w 2003 roku, a jego założycielem jest argentyński muzyk i architekt Miguel Di Genova.
W muzyce Otros Aires język wczesnych tang i milong z początku XX wieku miesza się z elementami muzyki elektronicznej. Grupa chętnie używa również fragmentów starych nagrań (np. Gardela lub D’Arienza) jako sampli.
Zespół opublikował swoją pierwszą płytę, Otros Aires, w 2004 roku i zaprezentował ją na koncercie 11.12.2004 w muzeum Carlosa Gardela. Tak się składa, że 11 grudnia to nie tylko Narodowy Dzień Tanga w Argentynie, ale i dzień urodzin Gardela.
W sumie zespół opublikował pięć albumów i jedno DVD. Po odbyciu ponad czterdziestu tras koncertowych w Europie i obydwu Amerykach, Otros Aires wciąż działa, aczkolwiek ich ostatnia płyta Perfect Tango ukazała się w 2016 roku.
Osobiście uważam zespół za jeden z najbardziej ciekawych neotangowych projektów, ponieważ odrzucają oni język współczesnego tanga i sięgają do jego samych korzeni, korzystając z utworów z początku XX wieku. Ich muzyka jest zawsze pełna energii i posiada wyraźny i silny beat.

OTROS AIRES GROUP
The group was founded in Barcelona by an Argentinian musician and architect Miguel Di Genova in 2003.
Otros Aires mixes the first tango and milongas structures from the beginning of the last century with elements of electronic music, using fragments of the old recordings (that is Gardel and D'Arienzo songs) as samples.
The group released their first album Otros Aires in 2004, and presented it at a concert 11.12.2004 at the Carlos Gardel House Museum. It so happens that 11th December as well as being The National Day of Tango in Argentina and it is also Gardel’s birthday.
All together the group has released five albums and one DVD. After around forty concert tours in Europe, North America and South America, Otros Aires is still going, although their most recent release CD was Perfect Tango in 2016.
Personally I consider the group as one of the most interesting musical neotango projects, because they reject all achievements in tango music after the 40s and reach directly into the deep roots of early tango, such as songs from the beginning of the 20th century. The Otros Aires music has always a lot of energy and a strong, clear beat.
